Video Tutorial #2

I'm back with another video tutorial and this time we walk step by step through my workflow on a Cinemagraph I shot on a recent weekend away in the beautiful winter wonderland of Queenstown, New Zealand. This video shows how I use Flixel Cinemagraph Pro for masking and completing my final Cinemagraph after some pre-grading in Adobe After Effects and a little touch up in Photoshop thrown in the mix. Look out for my favourite feature using Cinemagraph Pro, using the Touchbar on the MacBook Pro which Flixel has beautifully integrated with live control of the masking brush so you can adjust the size, softness and opacity on the fly with one hand while you paint around edges on your track pad with the other... it's like making music!

Tell me what you think of these first two video tutorials... honest constructive criticism is all good, I know I um and erh, I say "so..." too much and probably talk way too fast in my mumbling kiwi accent! But I want to get better at this so fire away in the comments below... and please share to Facebook, Twitter etc.

"So... let's get into it!"

Software used: Adobe After Effects & Photoshop Flixel Cinemagraph Pro - www.flixel.com Tutorial screen recorded with Movavi and edited in Premiere. The original shot featured here used: LUMIX GH4 (dying to get a GH5!) Sigma Art 18-35 Lens with Metabones Speedbooster XL Tutorial lighting: Aputure Lightstorm 120d mounted with their Light Dome.
